A financial statements auditor is an individual who audits the financial statements of any company or organization. To audit the financial statements, the auditor will have to check for the correctness of the entries made in the financial statements by the company. It is the responsibility of the financial statements auditor to make sure that all entries in the financial statements are correct. They will have to check the books and records of the company to verify the correctness of the entries made. The auditor will also check the accounting policies used by the company. These accounting policies are generally laid down by the accounting standards set by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The auditor will also check whether the company follows the accounting policies. If they are not followed, the auditor will recommend changes in the accounting policies.
